FAQs about MCF&G:
- Do you have to be a member to shoot at the
range?
- You must be a member or the guest of a
member in order to shoot when there is no event in progress. All our scheduled
events are open to the public so you do not have to be a member or a
guest to participate in those.
- How do I become a member?
- What kinds of payment do you take?
- You can pay your dues with cash, check or
money-order. We are not setup for credit cards.
- How do I renew my membership?
- You have several choices here....
- Send a check (made out to
"Marion County Fish and Game" or "MCF&G")
or money-order along with a renewal form and
a self-addressed, stamped envelope to:
Marion County Fish & Game
P.O. Box 24285
Speedway, IN 46224
- Renew at a membership meeting, Thursday
nights during trap shooting, or do it at Key
Day, which is always the first Saturday of April each year.
- When does my membership expire?
- Your membership expires January 1st of the
following year you join. However, if you joined in October, November, or
December your dues are good for the remainder of that year plus the next
year.
Example: If you joined April 30, 2007 your dues expire January 1, 2008.
If you joined October 1, 2007 thru December 31, 2007 your dues expire
January 1, 2009.
- What is Key Day and why is it not until the
first Saturday in April?
- Key Day is the day that the lock on the front
gate is changed for that year. We are available for the new key exchange
on that Saturday from about 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. In order to get a new
key to the gate, your dues must be paid on or by that day. (You may pay
your dues when exchanging your key). Waiting until the first
Saturday of April gives everyone the chance to pay (or get ready to pay)
their dues for that year. If you have already renewed your membership,
please bring your new membership badge with you for your key exchange.
- Do Life Members need to exchange keys?
- No, your keys should always be good.
- What if I can't make it to Key Day?
- Once again you have a few choices ....
- You can send your old key (taped to an index
card) along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope to:
Marion County Fish & Game
P.O. Box 24285
Speedway, IN 46224
Please include your dues if you haven't paid for this
year.
- You may also exchange your key at a
membership meeting or on a Thursday night during trap
shooting.
- Why is no one available to immediately
replace my lost key or answer my questions 24/7?
- Because MCF&G is run completely by members
who volunteer their time and resources to keep the range running
smoothly. Help us help you by volunteering some of your time.
- What positions are on the Board of
Directors and how are they elected?
- The Board of Directors consists of
- President - 1 year term
- Vice-President - 1 year term
- Secretary - 1 year term
- Treasurer - 1 year term
- 3 Trustees - 3 year terms each
- Each October three club members are chosen to
serve on the Nominating Committee. This committee finds people willing
to be nominated for positions on the Board. Each year a president,
vice-president, secretary, treasurer and 1 trustee are elected. At the
November meeting the Nominating Committee presents the slate for the
next year. At the December meeting elections are held.
